Actor vijay faces a huge obstacle

Kaavalan just crossed one hurdle with the producer Romesh Babu and distributor JK Saravanan reaching an out-of-court settlement on the breach of the agreement they had entered. This led to the belief that Vijay’s Kaavalan would hit the screens as planned on December 24th, 2010.

But things are not moving as smoothly as it seemed a few days earlier as Kaavalan is facing another obstacle.

The issue with the Theatre Owners’ Association regarding the compensation package from Vijay for the losses incurred for screening the Sura has been brought to the forefront once again. There was a demand by the Association members for compensation failing which they threatened to boycott Vijay’s fut
ure releases.

With Kaavalan gearing up for release, the theatre owners are threatening not to release the film if a solution for their losses is not arrived at.

THALAPATHY VIJAY’S UNUSUAL DONATION

Vijay has gifted 108 milking cows with calves to the deserving people including farmers, widows and destitute women. The event took place in Udumalpet, where the actor distributed the cows, and said that it would be available for the beneficiaries right from the Diwali. Each of the cow cost about 25,000 to 30,000 rupees and an entire team worked hard to procure these 108 cows.

At the function, Vijay was compared to the legendary King Raja Raja Cholan who was known for distributing cows to his subjects to ensure their welfare. Udumalpet Municipality Chairman said during this function that Vijay had done something that even politicians have not even done.

The cow donation event was organized by Vijay Narpani Mandram with the help of Velayudham’s producer Aascar Ravichandran and Suresh.

AcTOR VIJAY'S MOTHER GETS HONORARY AWARD

Esthel Hotels and Resorts, who identify and felicitate women achievers every year, have bestowed the Honorary Lifetime Achievement Mrs. Chennai award on Shoba Chandrashekar for the year 2010. Shoba Chandrahsekar, mother of actor Vijay, is a renowned singer, writer and producer. The award is given to Mrs. Chandrashekar to appreciate her roles as a doting wife, caring & responsible mother and a successful career woman as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Vimalaramani Britto, MD, Esthel Hotels and Resorts said, "Mrs. Shoba is the best choice for the award as she has is an acclaimed carnatic singer, a writer, specialises in yoga and a mother to a highly successful son. In spite of all this, she does not have an ounce of ego which is applaudable". The function was attended by RK Selvamani, Shobana Ramesh and Chairman Xavier Britto.

AN INFURIATED VIJAY ADVOCATES DEATH SENTENCE

The news that created the headlines in many leading dailies in the Tamil Nadu about young Hrithik Jain and Muskan being brutally murdered after being kidnapped for ransom has infuriated the public. Film star Vijay, who was shooting for the film Kaavalan, has said that when he heard the news about their brutal murders, he was angry at the accused, Mohan, and sought death sentence on the perpetrator of this crime.

Vijay, in a statement, has said that loss suffered by the deceased’s parents is irreparable and only the almighty should give them the strength to cope with it.

The actor also sought capital punishment for such heinous crimes so that innocent lives can be saved.

He added that this message is not an effect of him enjoying the star status or a concerned father but that of crores of people who have been angered by these murders.

ACTRESS HANSIKA BUSY WITH VIJAY

Hansika is busy in the Pollachi shooting for the film Velayudham with Vijay. The actress, who is yet to have a Tamil film release, says that she is waiting with bated breath for Engeyum Kadhal and Mappillai. Ask her which one would hit the screens first, and Hansika says that the release date is not in her hands.

The audio launch of Engeyum Kadhal is slated to take place soon and there is one more song to be shot for Mappillai. It is really tricky to predict which of these two films will come out first.

Engeyum Kadhal is directed by Prabhu Deva and Mappillai has Dhanush playing Hansika’s lead pair.

VIJAY OPTIONS FOR A REMAKE NEXT

While Vijay is waiting for the Kaavalan's release and acting in film Velayudham, he has already started to plan ahead. Vijay, who shows keen interest in the Telugu movies, was recently watching the Telugu hit movie Brindavaanam. Impressed with the story of the movie and the fact that the movie was a hit, Vijay is contemplating on buying the rights for the same. Brindaavanam has NTR Jr, Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Prakash Raj in important roles.

Vijay's Kaavalan is also a remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard.

Vijay in Seeman's Venture - 'KOMBAN'

Seems its 'KOMBAN' which Ilayathalapathy Vijay pairing with the Director Seeman soon. Sources said that Seeman was busy in shaping up the script before he was detained.

It will have assertive elements relevant to the youth and the society with powerful dialogues and energetic screenplay in the directors own way. But the project is delayed now as Seeman is not breathing independent air.

Though other details about the flick are yet to be known, the project and title were almost confirmed and time has to come close for Vijay Fans to see Ilayathalapathy in the Seeman's Venture with High Voltage.

Vijay confirms 3 IDIOTS

Vijay is right now shooting for KAAVALAN at Kerala, and the team would be back to Chennai for their final schedule and the shooting is all set to be wrapped up in the first week of the October, after which Vijay would resume his shoot for Velayudham.

Now expectations are on the upcoming movies that Vijay would work on after these 2 releases and its now confirmed that Vijay would work with Shankar for tamil remake of 3-Idiots. Vijay had already agreed to do the lead role in the tamil remake of 3-Idiots , which would be directed by Shankar and the music for the movie would be scored by Harris Jeyaraj and his combo with Vijay for the first time is set to create great expectations. This movie would be produced by Gemini Circuits, who hold the copy rights for the tamil remake of the movie.Talks are with Madhavan to play the same role that he did in Hindi and Jeeva would be the other lead too. But except for Vijay doing the lead role, the other casting details is still under discussions and would be known soon in the coming week.

Vijay for eye donation cause

Vijay waved the flag to start the procession held to create the Eye Donation organised by the Lions Club.

The procession was held near the Marina Beach and had lots of participations from colleges and universities.

DIRECTOR RAJA ON VIJAY’S VELAYUDHAM

Velayudham is a fast developing movie directed by Raja who is famous for delivering hits in the Tamil. Velayudham will have Vijay, Genelia D' Souza and Hansika Motwani in lead roles. Unlike Raja's earlier movies, this will be an original script and not a remake. Raja is upbeat about this movie and has completed a lot of portions of the movie already. When asked, he said that Velayudham is one of a kind movie and will definitely a milestone in actor Vijay's career.


Velayudham will have music by Vijay Anthony and is produced by Aascar Ravichandran. It is expected to be released in early summer of 2011.

Looks like December will witness a bevy of the movie releases. Vijay’s Kaavalan will hit the marquee on December 24th, 2010. Kaavalan, a remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard, is expected to repeat the same success in the Kollywood too.


The film has garnered a lot of expectations as it is touted to be different from Vijay’s earlier films. Directed by Siddhique, Kaavalan has Asin playing Vijay’s leading lady.
